The Gray Ghost Inn is owned and operated by Magnus and Carina Thorsson with their three young daughters Natalia, Emma and Sofia, and their two black Labradors Kenai and Loki.

Magnus is originally from Iceland. He received his Bachelor's degree in Hotel Restaurant Institutional Management in 1993 from Johnson & Wales University in Providence, Rhode Island.

Magnus has worked as a chef, kitchen manager, Food & Beverage consultant in his native Iceland. He has held the position of executive steward at the New York Hilton in 1994 and 1995, and was the room service manager at the Washington Hilton in 1996.

Before purchasing the Gray Ghost Inn, Magnus was the store manager of Sutton Place Gourmet in Reston and McLean, Virginia. He is an avid fly fisher and bird hunter and enjoys the outdoors.

Magnus offers FREE fly fishing lessons to guests staying at the Inn. He will also assist in equipment selection and direct you to the fishing hot spots in the Deerfield Valley.

Carina is originally from Sweden. She received her degree in Service Economics and Management from the University of Gothenburg, Sweden in 1990.

For five years Carina worked at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York.

Carina enjoys skiing, both on snow and water, and taking long walks with Kenai and Loki. She is a devoted dog lover and has in the past raised Uncle, a black male lab with Guiding Eyes for the Blind. She is now raising a new puppy. His name is Yeats, also a black lab, born on the 1st of September.

The Gray Ghost Inn was built in various stages from the late 1950's into the 70's. Previous owners John and Kay Collingwood owned the Inn for 16 years and did extensive renovations and improvements.

Since taking ownership of the Inn in January of 2000, Magnus and Carina has renovated many of the rooms, the outdoor hot tub, built a new lobby and added the Tavern. They have also added a seasonal heated outdoor pool and a fire pit in the backyard.

The name - Gray Ghost - does not have anything to do with ghosts as many people might think. It is actually the name of a fly fishing lure. So rest assured you will have a peaceful and enjoyable stay at the Gray Ghost Inn.

Magnus does all the cooking and Carina handles reservations and makes sure you feel just like home. Natalia, Emma, Sofia, Kenai and Loki will keep you entertained.
