In winter, the Gray Ghost Inn warmly welcomes individuals, couples, and families to enjoy a season of snow sports in southern Vermont. We know and love the Mt. Snow Valley, and can assist you in maximizing your enjoyment in our winter wonderland.
We’re just 3.5 hours from New York City and 2.5 hours from Boston, making us the closest Vermont recreation area to these metro areas.
The Gray Ghost Inn is conveniently located near the base of Mt. Snow, less than a mile from the ski resort’s main entrance.
Mount Snow Ski Resort
The Mount Snow Resort includes the four mountain areas of Mount Snow: Main Mountain, North Face, Carinthia and Sunbrook. Mount Snow offers a variety of terrain including a two-mile-long novice trail from the summit, 100-yard-wide intermediate trails and the expert North Face that includes Ripcord, Mount Snow’s steepest trail and one of the steepest in New England. 104 trails totaling 48 miles are spread out over 598.3 acres, serviced by 19 lifts, the newest being a 6 person high speed lift. The resort also includes 5 terrain parks,a superpipe and offers snowmobile tours. Superb snowmaking unsures excellent conditions regardless of the weather.
Discounted lift tickets are available for our guests. Just ask when making a reservation.
In addition to downhill skiing and snowboarding, other popular snow sports are available nearby. Timber Creek X-Country offers cross-country skiers a choice of trail adventures and spectacular views. High Country Snowmobile Tours will take you on a guided snowmobile tour through the Green Mountain National Forest. Zoar Outdoor also offers X-country and snowshoe tours.
Did we mention that Vermont has snow, and lots of it? You may want to try hiking with snowshoes, sledding, riding a toboggan, going skating or ice fishing, catching a sleigh ride, or even just making a snowman. Keep an eye out for winter festivals, too, where you can sample a true Vermont classic, sugar-on-snow.
Shopping and Dining
When you need a break from the snow, nearby shopping, restaurants, and entertainment in the Mt. Snow Valley will keep you active and occupied. From cheesemakers and wineries to bowling and movies, there is something for everyone to do.
Finally, after a busy day skiing, snowboarding, or shopping, you can relax by the fireplace or soak in the hot tub at the Gray Ghost Inn before retiring for the evening… to do more in the morning!
