Winter Fun

In winter, the Gray Ghost Inn warmly welcomes individuals, couples, and families to enjoy a season of snow sports in southern Vermont. We know and love the Mt. Snow Valley, and can assist you in maximizing your enjoyment in our winter wonderland.

We’re just 3.5 hours from New York City and 2.5 hours from Boston, making us the closest Vermont recreation area to these metro areas.

The Gray Ghost Inn is conveniently located near the base of Mt. Snow, less than a mile from the ski resort’s main entrance.

Snow Sports

SkiingIn addition to downhill skiing and snowboarding, other popular snow sports are available nearby. Timber Creek X-Country offers cross-country skiers a choice of trail adventures and spectacular views. High Country Snowmobile Tours will take you on a guided snowmobile tour through the Green Mountain National Forest.   Zoar Outdoor also offers X-country and snowshoe tours.

Did we mention that Vermont has snow, and lots of it? You may want to try hiking with snowshoes, sledding, riding a toboggan, going skating or ice fishing, catching a sleigh ride, or even just making a snowman. Keep an eye out for winter festivals, too, where you can sample a true Vermont classic, sugar-on-snow.
